FY19 NDAA (Pub. L. 115-232) Section 211 — Amendments to prototype OT authority
Summary
Section 211 of the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act (Pub. L. 115-232), which amends 10 U.S.C. 2371b, DoD's authority to carry out prototype projects through other transactions. The provision folds any follow-on production contract or transaction awarded under subsection (f) into the authority, moves approval to the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering or for Acquisition and Sustainment, and adds new paragraphs permitting a follow-on production award once an individual prototype or prototype subproject within a consortium is successfully completed, without requiring completion of all consortium activities.
